Reese has a pedigree I couldn’t pass up. Her sire is FC AFC Esprit Lickety Split. He is a full sibling to 3X ‘90, ‘91, ‘93 NFC AFC Candlewood’s Tanks A Lot and her dam is a QAA daughter by ‘06 NAFC FC Carbon Copy of Horn Creek. I really didn’t need another dog at the time but when I saw her ad on the internet, I just couldn’t pass her up and I’m glad I didn’t. From the day I brought her home she constantly wanted to carry something around. When we transitioned from hand thrown bumpers to throwing bigger marks it was easy because she loved it so much and as a young dog she was doing some unbelievable marks. When Reese was around 7 months old she wandered over to the neighbors and borrowed one of their drake mallard looking farm ducks and brought it home all nice and proud without a scratch on it. After I got her in the kennel I had to catch him and return him home, I couldn’t believe how big he was compared to her and how easily she carried him. At under a year old she was pheasant hunting like a seasoned veteran doing all the right things: quartering, flushing, marking and retrieving all natural. She works hard covering a lot of ground. Her first season or so she hadn’t quite figured out how to pace herself and she would need a pretty long break between fields but now she makes it look effortless acting like she could hunt all day and screams in the truck when it’s her turn to rest a field. She always wants more. Reese is what everyone is looking for in a lab. She is athletic, intense, bold, stylish, with more than enough go, yet steady on the line.
I have gotten behind on her training so I enlisted the help of a friend of mine to train her. He is working on getting her ready for some HRC titles and we expect great things from her in the near future. She is great with kids, other dogs and has a great off switch. She is very sweet and wants to come in and be a 55 lb lap dog.
